    Hours: We are open on Monday 11AM – 5PM and Thursday 10AM – 4PM and by appointment.

    Parking:  There is ample parking in the parking lot to the south of the Wood Memorial Library and Museum. The South Windsor Historical Society allows us to use this space for parking and we are so grateful. Street parking is also available.

  • Expect to get involved! We are committed to "active" history. This means interactive story hours for children, hands-on craft workshops for people of all ages, and an intimate concert series featuring everything from classical chamber music and American folk to Afropop and South Asian dance.

  • Yes! We want the Wood to be the "living room" of our community. We are actively looking to partner with individuals and groups who organize community activities—from birding and old house restoration groups to vinyl record listening sessions.   • Absolutely. Our children’s library, collections, archives, and research library remain core pillars of our identity. Please stop in and browse our library and museum!

  • We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers of all ages!Whether you enjoy assisting with children’s programs and research library, helping coordinate our cultural offerings, or assisting with hands-on crafts and interest groups, there is a place for you.

  • We are launching new ways to capture history as it happens. We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate recording of Oral Histories, testimonials, and informal chats, podcasts, and videos that record the lived experiences of our residents today.

  • The Wood is built on community input. If you have an idea for a performance, a workshop, or a recurring interest group, please reach out! We are especially interested in programs that celebrate our community’s diverse cultures and demographics.
