Old Pleasant Valley School

By Mrs. Pam Briggs

After incorporation as a Town in 1845, fourteen school districts were established in South Windsor. Some of these school districts were operated jointly with other towns. District School No. 5, built in 1862, is located on Ellington Road near Pleasant Valley Road, and still stands in fine repair. The schoolhouse is maintained by the South Windsor Historical Society.
